A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is OFF.
(3)
Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Oil Cooler (8079KM)
(1)
Remove the blanking plugs from the oil cooler and the oil pipes.
(2)
Apply a thin layer of lubricant OILS (Material No. 03-002) to the new o-ring (9) and to the new o-ring (9).
(3)
Install the new O-rings (9) on the oil pipes (8).
(4)
Put the oil cooler (8079KM) (4) into position with the oil pipes (8) in their related positions.
(5)
Install the oil cooler (4) with the washers (11) and the bolts (10).
(6)
TORQUE the bolts (10) on the oil cooler to between 0.56 and 0.60 m.daN (49.55 and 53.09 lbf.in)
(7)
Install the oil pipes (8) to the thermal bypass valve (5) on the oil cooler (8079KM) (4) with the retainers (7) and the bolts (6).
NOTE : Make sure that the oil pressure and return pipes are connected
____ to their correct connections at the thermal bypass valve (5).
(8)
TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 0.28 and 0.33 m.daN (24.77 and 29.20 lbf.in).
(9)
Connect the cooling air inlet duct (2) and the outlet duct (3) with the clamps (1).
(10) TORQUE the clamps (1) to between 0.28 and 0.31 m.daN (24.77 and 27.43 lbf.in).
NOTE : To prevent damage to the ducts, do not overtighten the clamps

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD.

C. Leak Test
(1)
Start the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-003) in order to pump oil into the oil cooler (8079KM) (4).
(2)
Stop the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-004).
(3)
Make sure that the oil level of the APU is correct (Ref. TASK 49-90-00-600-001).
(4)
Examine the oil cooler (8079KM) (4) and outlet duct (3) for oil leaks. No leaks are permitted.
(5)
Examine the oil tubes (8) and (1) for oil leaks. No leaks are permitted.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Close the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(3)
Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 49-91-44-860-057
B.
Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems.
(Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2)
De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(3)
Remove the warning notice(s).
