A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Energize the ground service network
(Ref. TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2)
Make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw on the panel 25VU is OFF.
(3)
Make sure that the warning notice is in position on the panel 25VU to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU access door 316AR.
(6)
Make sure that the access doors 315AL, 316AR are open.
(7)
Make sure that the LIGHT SW 11LJ is set to the ON position.

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Oil Heater
(1)
Remove the blanking plug from the gearbox.
(2)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Lubricate the new O-ring (5) with OILS (Material No. 03-002).
(5)
Install the new O-ring (5) on the heater (3).
(6)
Put the heater (3) in position in the gearbox.
(7)
Install the washers (2) and the bolts (1).
(8)
TORQUE the bolts (1) to 50 lbf.in (0.56 m.daN).
(9)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(10)
Connect the electrical connector (4) to the heater (3).
(11)
Refill the gearbox with oil (Ref. TASK 49-90-00-600-007).
(12)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD, 1KT

(1)
Operate the APU for 5 minutes (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-710-010).
(2)
Examine the heater (3) for leaks.
