A. Removal of the Hot Nozzle and Bellows.
(1)
Remove the clamp (2).
(2)
Remove the hot nozzle (1) from the exhaust muffler (5).
(3)
Remove the clamp (4) and the bellows (3).
(4)
Examine the piston ring (6) for damage or wear. If the piston ring is found to defective, replace the exhaust muffler (Ref. TASK 49-81-41-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 49-81-41-400-001).
(5)
Examine the hot nozzle (1) and the bellows (3) for damage, chafing marks or cracks. Replace if found to be defective.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Energize the ground service network
(Ref. TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2)
On the panel 25VU make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is OFF.
(3)
Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5)
Make sure that the APU exhaust access-fairing 317AL is removed (Ref. TASK 52-41-18-000-001).
(6)
Make sure that the exhaust muffler is removed (Ref. TASK 49-81-41-000-001).

(1)
Put the access platform in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2)
Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3)
Set the LIGHT SW 11LJ to the ON position.

A. Installation of the Hot Nozzle and Bellows.
(1)
Install the bellows (3) on the exhaust muffler (5).
(2)
Install the clamp (4) on the bellows (3).
(3)
TORQUE the clamp (4) to between 0.2 and 0.22 m.daN (17.69 and 19.46 lbf.in).
(4)
Install the hot nozzle (1) on the exhaust muffler (5).
(5)
Put the drain line (7) in the six o'clock position.
(6)
Install the clamp (2) on the bellows (3).
(7)
TORQUE the clamp (2) to between 0.2 and 0.22 m.daN (17.69 and 19.46 lbf.in).
(8)
Install the exhaust muffler (Ref. TASK 49-81-41-400-001)
