A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
(3)
Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
(6)
Make sure that the APU access doors are open (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(7)
Make sure that the LIGHT control switch 11LJ is set to the on position.

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Sealing Ring (Bellows).
(1)
Examine the piston ring (6) for damage or wear. Replace the piston ring if necessary.
(2)
Examine the (hot) nozzle (1) and the sealing ring (bellows) (3) for damage, chafing marks or cracks. Replace the (hot) nozzle (1) and the sealing ring (bellows) (3) if necessary.
(3)
Install the sealing ring (bellows) (3) on the exhaust muffler (5).
(4)
Install the clamp (4) on the sealing ring (bellows) (3).
(5)
TORQUE the clamp (4) to between 0.2 and 0.22 m.daN (17.69 and 19.46 lbf.in).
(6)
Install the hot nozzle (1) on the piston ring (6).
(7)
Put the drain line (7) in the six o'clock position.
(8)
Install the clamp (2) on the sealing ring (bellows) (3).
(9)
TORQUE the clamp (2) to between 0.2 and 0.22 m.daN (17.69 and 19.46 lbf.in).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1)
Install the exhaust muffler (Ref. TASK 49-81-41-400-002).
(2)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(3)
Close the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4)
Install the APU exhaust access fairing 317AL (Ref. TASK 52-41-18-400-001).
(5)
Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 49-81-42-865-055
B.
Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems.
(Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(2)
De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3)
Remove the warning notice(s).

1. General
_______ The APU oil system lubricates and cools the power section, load compressor, gearbox and AC-Generator. This system is made up of:
-
an integral wet-sump lubrication system with an APU mounted oil cooler,
-
an oil level, high oil temperature and low oil-pressure monitoring system. The Electronic Control Box (ECB) 59KD monitors these parameters.
