 (2)  To remove the flight compartment detector, do the step that follow:
 (a)  
Remove the ceiling panel on the left side of the main compartment, approximately 10 feet (305 cm) aft of the forward bulkhead (Ref 25-22-01/401).

 (b)  
Remove the inboard-most dripshield which is on the left side of the airplane centerline:


 NOTE: There are four dripshields installed above the ceiling
____ panels along the airplane centerline. Two of the dripshields are on the left side of the airplane centerline and the other two dripshields are on the right side of the airplane centerline. Access to the flight deck low flow detector is thru the inboard-most dripshield on the left side of the airplane centerline.
 1)  Use a bucket to collect the water which remains in the dripshields while you disconnect the four drain tubes from the inboard-most dripshield.
 2)  Remove the four fasteners (screw, nut, and two washers) from the upper side of the inboard-most dripshield which attach it to the other dripshields.
 3)  Remove the two fasteners (screw, washer, and gasket) from the lower side of the inboard-most dripshield which hold it to the structure.
 4)  Remove the inboard-most dripshield.
 D.  Remove the Detector

 (1)  Disconnect the electrical connector from the detector.

Main E/E rack detector DM7934

 (b)  
Flight deck detector DM7933

Cut and remove the lockwire from the detector.

 (3)  
Remove the dripshield.

 (4)  
Remove the detector.

 (5)  
Put a cover on the duct opening.

 CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU HOLD THE DETECTOR. YOU CAN EASILY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DETECTOR PROBE IF YOU DO NOT HOLD IT CAREFULLY.
 (a)  
Remove the lint and the dirt from the detector.

 (b)  
Use the alchohol and the cloth to clean the detector probe.
