 2.  Equipment Cooling Air Cleaner Cleaning (Fig. 201)______________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  This task has two procedures to clean the air cleaner. The usual procedure will remove most of the unwanted material from the cleaner. The optional procedure, which uses special equipment, will remove more of the unwanted material from the cleaner.
 B.  Standard Tools and Equipment
 (1)  
Vacuum Cleaner - Commercially Available

 (2)  
Dryer - Oven, which can be set to 140° F (60° C)
 (for the optional procedure)

 (3)  
Hot Bath - Parts, sufficient dimension to soak the air cleaner at 130° F (54° C). (for the optional procedure)

 C.  Consumable Materials
 (1)  B00615, Degreaser - Solvent Emulsion, NEUGENIC 4177 (for the optional procedure)
 D.  Access
 (1)  Location Zone 121 Forward Cargo Compartment Forward Half, LH
 E.  Clean the Cleaner

 (1) Do the Equipment Cooling Air Cleaner Removal (Ref 21-58-10/201).

Use a vacuum cleaner or compressed air to remove the loose material from the cleaner.

Do the usual procedure.

 (a)  
Clean the air cleaner with soap and water.

 (b)  
Flush the air cleaner with clean water.

 (c)  
Dry the air cleaner fully with compressed air.

 (4)  Do the optional procedure.
 (a)  
Put the air cleaner in the solution at 130°F (54°C) for one hour.

 (b)  
Clean the air cleaner with the solution.

 (c)  
Use a brush to remove the unwanted material.

 (d)  
Flush the air cleaner with clean water.

 (e)  
Dry the air cleaner with compressed air.

 (f)  
Dry the air cleaner in an oven for one hour at 140°F (60°C).
