(1) Remove the plug from the vent on the water separator (1).
(2) S 962-028If the seals (3, 6) in the duct flanges are damaged, worn, or have a crack, then replace the seals.
Install the Water Separator

(1) Put the water separator (1) in its position in the applicable air cooling pack.
(a) Make sure the water drain boss is at the lowest position on the water separator.

(2) Install the couplings (2, 5) on each end of the water separator (1).
(a) Tighten the coupling nuts to 60 - 80 pound-inches
(6.78 - 9.03 newton-meters).

(3) Make sure the total resistance across each coupling is less than
0.010 ohms (Ref 20-22-01/601).

(4) Connect the water drain hose (4) to the drain tube connection
(approximately 18 inches (0.45 meters) from the water separator).Do the Installation Test for the Water Separator

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the applicable PACKS selector, on the P5 panel.

Operate the applicable air conditioning pack (Ref 21-00-00/201).

Feel for leaks around the water separator.
(a) Small leaks are permitted.
(b)
You must repair the large leaks.Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Close the applicable access door, 191N-L or 192H-R (Ref 06-09-03/201).

Shut down the air conditioning pack (Ref 21-00-00/201).

A. This procedure has instructions to remove and install the compressor bypass check valve. One compressor bypass check valve is installed in each air cooling pack.
