Do these steps to open the modulating valves for the flight deck or the main deck: 1) Turn and hold the applicable temperature selector (FLT
DECK, MAIN DECK FWD or AFT) on the P5 panel to the MAN W position while you monitor the EICAS ECS maintenance page. 2) Make sure the applicable TRIM VAL POS indication, on the EICAS ECS maintenance page, is between 0.90 and 1.00.
NOTE: The valve may take several minutes to open.

3) Release the applicable temperature selector.
Do these steps to open the modulating valve for the lower
forward or aft cargo compartment:
1) Set the LOWER LOBE CARGO COND AIR FLOW RATE selector, P461,
to the LOW, BOTH position.
2) Turn and hold the applicable temperature selector (LOWER LOBE FWD or AFT) on the P5 panel to the MAN W position while you monitor the EICAS ECS maintenance page.
3) Make sure the applicable TRIM VAL POS indication, on the EICAS ECS maintenance page, is between 0.90 and 1.00.
NOTE: The valve may take several minutes to open.

4) Release the applicable temperature selector.
Do these steps to open the modulating valves for the upper deck
or the crew rest area:
1) Set the FLT DECK TEMP selector on the P5 panel to AUTO C.
2) Push the ZONE SELECT button on the Cabin Temperature
Selector, M7914, until the applicable zone is displayed.
NOTE:____ For the upper deck valve, select U.
For the crew rest area valve, select C.
3) Push the WARMER button on the Cabin Temperature Selector
until the zone target temperature shows "29."
4) Make sure the applicable TRIM VAL POS indication, on the
EICAS ECS maintenance page, is between 0.90 and 1.00.
NOTE:____ The valve may take several minutes to open.

WARNING:_______DO NOT TOUCH THE TRIM AIR DUCTS. THE DUCTS ARE VERY HOT AND CAN BURN YOU VERY BADLY IF YOU TOUCH THEM.
(g) Examine the joints between the ducts and the modulating valve for leaks.
NOTE:____Small air leaks are OK. You must fix large air leaks. Align the clamps or the joints to decrease the air leakage if it is necessary.
E. Put the Airplane Back to its Usual Condition

(1) Do these steps if you installed the main deck forward or aft valves:
(a) Set the applicable MAIN DECK TEMP selector on the P5 panel to AUTO.
WARNING: REFER TO 32-00-30/201 FOR THE CORRECT REMOVAL OF THE DOOR
_______ LOCKS FOR THE LANDING GEAR. THE LANDING GEAR DOORS CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY.
(b) Remove the door locks for the body landing gear and the wing landing gear (AMM 32-00-30/201).

(2) Do these steps if you installed the lower forward or aft cargo valves:
(a)
Set the LOWER LOBE CARGO COND AIR FLOW RATE switch to OFF, at the P461 overhead maintenance panel.
(b)
Set the applicable LOWER LOBE TEMP selector on the P5 panel to AUTO.
WARNING: REFER TO 32-00-30/201 FOR THE CORRECT REMOVAL OF THE DOOR
_______ LOCKS FOR THE LANDING GEAR. THE LANDING GEAR DOORS CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY.
(c)
