Clean the internal and external surfaces of the housing, motor and fan blades with a clean cloth or soft bristle brush and solvent.

G. Assemble the Temperature Sensor Assembly

(1) Install the sensor fan on the housing as follows:
(a)
Put the sensor fan on the housing in the position noted in step 2.E.(4)(a).
(b)
Turn the three clamps intil they are in position over the housing flange.
(c)
Tighten the screws on all three clamps.
1) For an aluminum housing, tighten the screws to 4 - 5 pound-inches (5.4 - 6.8 newton-meters) above the run-on torque.
2) For a plastic housing, tighten the screws to 2 - 3 pound-inches (2.7 - 4.1 newton-meters) above the run-on torque.

(2) Install the temperature sensor in the housing so that the key lock on the temperature sensor points to the fan motor.
(a) Install and tighten the two screws through the sensor flange and housing. 1) For an aluminum housing, tighten the screws to 8 - 10
pound-inches (10.9 - 13.6 newton-meters) above the run-on torque.
2) For a plastic housing, tighten the screws to 2 - 3 pound-inches (2.7 - 4.1 newton-meters) above the run-on torque.

Install the temperature bulb in the housing. Tighten the
temperature bulb to 10 - 20 pound-inches (13.6 - 27.1
newton-meters).

Install the lockwire to secure the temperature bulb in it's boss (AMM 20-11-28/401).

Install the temperature sensor assembly (AMM 21-61-03/401).

1. General_______
A. You must do a test of the sensor after you install it.
B. The temperature sensor assembly for the forward cargo is on the
compartment left sidewall opposite of the forward cargo door.
C. The temperature sensor assembly for the aft cargo is on the compartment right sidewall forward of the aft cargo compartment door.
D. The temperature sensor assembly for the bulk cargo is on the compartment left sidewall opposite of the bulk cargo door.
