 CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT LET THE SENSOR FAN HANG FROM THE
_______ ELECTRICAL WIRES. IF YOU LET THE SENSOR FAN HANG FROM THE ELECTRICAL WIRES THEN THE WIRES CAN BE DAMAGED.
 (d)  Carefully lift the sensor fan from the housing and set the assembly on the work surface.
 F. Clean the Temperature Sensor Assembly
 S 147-005
 (1)  
Clean the temperature sensor and the temperature bulb with a clean cloth that is moist with cleaning solution.

 (2)  
Rinse the solution from the parts with a clean cloth that is moist with water.

 (3)  
Dry the temperature bulb and the temperature sensor with a clean dry cloth.

 CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE CLEANING SOLUTION GET INTO THE FAN MOTOR
_______
 HOUSING. THE SOLUTION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR'S
 ELECTRICAL WIRING.

Clean the internal and external surfaces of the housing, motor and fan blades with a clean cloth or soft bristle brush and solution.

 (5)  
Remove all the solution from the sensor assembly with a clean dry cloth.


 G. Assemble the Temperature Sensor Assembly
 S 437-007
 (1)  Install the sensor fan on the housing as follows:
 (a)  Put the sensor fan on the housing in the position noted in step 2.E.(4)(a).

 (b) (c)  Turn the three clamps until they are in position over the housing flange.Tighten the screws on all three clamps. 1) For an aluminum housing, tighten the screws to 4 - 5 pound-inches (5.4 - 6.8 newton-meters) above the run-on torque. 2) For a plastic housing, tighten the screws to 2 - 3 pound-inches (2.7 - 4.1 newton-meters) above the run-on torque.

 (2)  Install the temperature sensor in the housing so that the key lock on the temperature sensor points to the fan motor. (a) Install and tighten the two screws through the sensor flange and housing. 1) For an aluminum housing, tighten the screws to 8 - 10 pound-inches (10.9 - 13.6 newton-meters) above the run-on torque. 2) For a plastic housing, tighten the screws to 2 - 3 pound-inches (2.7 - 4.1 newton-meters) above the run-on torque.

 (3)  Install the temperature bulb in the housing. Tighten the temperature bulb to 10 - 20 pound-inches (13.6 - 27.1 newton-meters).

 (4)  Install the lockwire to secure the temperature bulb in it's boss (Ref 20-11-28/401).

 (5)  Install the temperature sensor assembly (Ref 21-61-05/401).

 ZONE TEMPERATURE SENSOR FILTER - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are air filters for the zone temperature sensor assemblies for the following zones:
 (1)
Flight Deck

 (2)
Crew Rest Area (2 Filters)

 (3)
Upper Deck


 B.  The zone temperature sensor assemblies for the main deck and lower lobe cargo zones do not have filters.
 C.  You can remove and clean the air filters when they get dirty.
