GROUND EXHAUST VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has instructions to remove and install the ground exhaust valve. This procedure also has instructions to remove and install the ground exhaust valve actuator. You may remove the actuator without removing the ground exhaust valve from the airplane. The valve is installed below the floor at station 550 of the forward cargo compartment.

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU DO
_______ THIS PROCEDURE. IF YOU OPERATE THE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT WHEN THE EQUIPMENT COOLING SYSTEM IS OFF, YOU CAN CAUSE THE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TO BECOME TOO HOT.
(1)
Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(2)
Remove the moisture shroud from the valve.
(3)
Disconnect the electrical connector, DV447 (10), from the valve (9).
(4)
Disconnect the bonding jumper (11) from the valve (9).

Use the knife to cut the aerodynamic seal on the outer surface of the valve.

Remove the bolts (6 and 7) from the outer side of the airplane.
(a) Make a record of where the short bolt (6) is installed.

Remove the coupling (5) from the top of the valve (9).
