C. The zone temperature control system consists of a cabin temperature control module, a digital cabin temperature selector, a zone temperature controller, cabin temperature sensors, duct temperature sensors, duct overtemperature switches, a master trim air shutoff valve, and trim air modulating valves.
D. The zone temperature controller operates the zone temperature control system automatically, based on the temperature selected for each zone with the selectors on the flight deck and at the cabin attendant's panel. For each zone, the selected temperature is compared with the cabin temperature monitored by the zone temperature sensor, and the trim air modulating valve is driven more open or more closed to add more or less hot trim air to the zone supply duct.
E. The zone temperature control system has a zone backup mode which is entered in the event of a failure in the system. In this mode, the output temperature of the air conditioning packs is set to maintain passenger and flight deck zone temperatures at a constant 75° F (24° C) temperature.
2. Cabin Temperature Control Module (Fig. 1)________________________________
A. The cabin temperature control module on the P5 pilots' overhead panel permits selection of flight deck temperature, main deck forward and aft temperature, lower lobe cargo forward and aft temperature. It also provides indication of a closed master trim air shutoff valve, and allows the valve to be reset or commanded closed.
B. The FLT DECK selector allows the flight crew to select the temperature of the flight compartment. The selector has a MAN position to allow the flight deck trim air modulating valve to be driven more open or more closed to increase or decrease flight deck temperature.
