 (4)  Remove the header access door.
 E. Procedure
 S 167-005
 (1)  Clean the heat exchanger.
 CAUTION: DO NOT HOLD THE AIR NOZZLE LESS THAN 6 INCHES FROM THE HEAT
_______ EXCHANGER CORE. YOU WILL BEND THE HEAT EXCHANGER FINS IF YOU TOUCH THEM. IF THE FINS ARE BENT, THE HEAT EXCHANGER WILL NOT OPERATE SATISFACTORILY.
 (a)  
Put the air nozzle through the ram-air exit door.

 (b)  
Move the air nozzle along all of the heat exchanger core to blow the contamination out of the heat exchanger.

 (c)  
Look through the header access door to make sure there is no contamination on the heat exchanger fins.

 (d)  
Do the previous three steps again, until more than 80% of the contamination is gone.


 CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE HEAT EXCHANGER FINS WITH THE VACUUM
_______ NOZZLE. YOU WILL BEND THE FINS IF YOU TOUCH THEM. IF THE FINS ARE BENT, THE HEAT EXCHANGER WILL NOT OPERATE SATISFACTORILY.
 (e)  
Put the vacuum nozzle through the header access door.

 (f)  
Move the vacuum nozzle along all of the heat exchanger core to remove the contamination from the heat exchanger.


 F. Put the Airplane to Its Usual Condition

 (1)  
Install the header access door.

 (2)  
Connect the ram-air exit door to its actuator.

 (3)  
Close the applicable access panel 191E-L, 192E-R or 191M-L
 (AMM 06-09-03/201).

 D.  Prepare for the Removal

 (1)  Turn the applicable (1, 2, or 3) PACKS selector, on the overhead panel, P5, to the OFF position.
 (a)  Put a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag on the selector.
