Remove the sidewall lining from the right side of the forward cargo compartment at Station 520 to get access to the exhaust fan (AMM 25-52-01/401).

Lower the applicable ceiling panel to get access to the flight deck low flow (cooling effect) detector (Ref 25-22-01/401). The detector is installed above the main deck ceiling on the left side of the airplane, approximately 10 feet (305 cm) aft of the forward bulkhead.

If neccessary for access to the flight deck low flow (cooling effect) detector; remove the left hand drip shield which is installed just forward of flight deck forward bulkhead (Ref 25-14-01/401).

 F. Do the Test

Do a test of the equipment cooling system in the closed loop mode (one fan failure) with the airplane in the air mode.

Set the EQUIP COOLING switch on the P5 overhead panel to NORM.

Make sure that the exhaust fan and the supply fan are operating (listen for the sound of the fan).

Make sure the inboard supply valve, inboard exhaust valve, and E6/E9 valve are open.
