B. Prepare for the Test

(1) Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
NOTE: When the APU is used for electrical power, make sure that
____ all busses are powered (green) on the EICAS "ELEC" synoptic page.

(2) Access the E6/E9 valve.
NOTE: The E6/E9 valve is located below the floor of the forward
____ cargo compartment at station 520. Remove the left floor panel (at station 520) of the forward cargo compartment if necessary.

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY FOLLOW THE STEPS IN THE SPECIFIED TASK TO
_______ PUT THE AIR/GROUND RELAY SYSTEM IN THE AIR MODE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE STEPS CORRECTLY CAN CAUSE THE AUTOMATIC OPERATION OF THE AIRPLANE SYSTEMS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Do the "Put the Air/Ground Relay System in the Air Mode" task (Ref 32-09-02/201).
C. E6/E9 Operational Test

(1) Do the cargo fire switch test:
(a) Make sure the airplane is in the air mode.

Make sure the EQUIP COOLING switch on the P5 overhead panel is set to NORM.
COOLING AIRFLOW CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Set the CARGO FIRE FWD switch on the P5 overhead panel to ARMED.
(d)

Set the CARGO FIRE AFT switch on the P5 overhead panel to ARMED.

CAUTION:_______ DO NOT KEEP THE CARGO FIRE SWITCH IN THE ARMED POSITION
FOR MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES. BOTH EQUIPMENT COOLING FANS
WILL STOP. EXTENDED OPERATION OF AIRPLANE SYSTEMS WITHOUT
