Retract the pawls 1 to 2 turns to set the adjustment.

 (c)  
Make sure that the parking brake can be set from the seats of the pilot and the first officer.

 (d)  
If it is necessary, adjust the pawls (retract one turn at a time) until the parking brake can be set from the pilot and first officer seats.


 NOTE: The more the pawls are retracted, the higher the parking
____ brake bleed-down rate will be.
 (e)  Lock the adjustment.

Add or remove the washers to set the bumper stop for the pawls:

 (a)  
With the parking brake off, push the brake pedals.

 (b)  
Make sure the pick-up bolt (on the brake control bellcrank) is clear of the pawl by 5/32 inch at the closest point.

Adjust the switch actuator of the parking brake
 (Fig. 501, Detail E):


 (a)  
Turn the jackshaft and install the rig pin through the outboard forks and the switch mounting bracket.

 (b)  
Loosen the bolts on the switch mounting bracket.

 (c)  
Turn the switch assembly to get a gap of 0.23 +/- 0.03 inches between the switch actuator roller and the end of the pushrod.

 (d)  Tighten the bolts on the switch mounting bracket.

Connect the external electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure you install the ground locks of the main and nose landing gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Make sure you close the antiskid fail warning circuit breaker (found on the load control center panel P6).

Remove the pressure from hydraulic Systems A and B
 (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Fully operate the brakes 12 times to remove the pressure from the brake system accumulator.

Make sure the precharge pressure of the brake accumulator agrees with the placard.

Remove the bleed screw and install a 3500 psi gage at the upper bleed port of the brakes.

Pressurize the hydraulic System B for a minimum of 10 minutes to let accumulator temperature stabilize (AMM 29-15-00/201).
