PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM - TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. General_______
A. You should do the trouble shooting procedure when the brake accumulator pressure decreases below the limit shown in the parking brake system test (AMM 32-44-00/501).
2. Do a Check on the System_________________________

Procedure
(1)
Make sure that the hydraulic brake system is bled and operates correctly (AMM 32-41-00/201 and 32-41-00/501).
(2)
Make sure that the hydraulic accumulator is correctly filled (AMM 12-15-11/301).
(3)
Make sure that you put chocks on all the wheels.

Procedure
(1)
Do the parking brake system accumulator bleed down test - parking brake set or parking brake released (AMM 32-44-00/501).
(2)
If the bleed down rate is too high, do the troubleshooting from the troubleshooting charts (Fig. 102 or 103).

TROUBLE PROBABLE CAUSE ISOLATION PROCEDURE REMEDY
PRESSURE BLEED-DOWN PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM RATE IS TOO HIGH. BLEED-DOWN TEST WAITING LESS THAN 10 MINUTES AFTER TURNING ON PUMPS TO START PARKING BRAKE ACCUMULATOR TEMPERA-ALLOW 10 MINUTES FOR TURE TO STABILIZE.
LOW ACCUMULATOR PRE-CHARGE DO A CHECK ON THE PRE-CHARGE WITH BRAKE SYSTEM DEPRESSURIZED (AMM 12-15-11/301). SERVICE ACCUMULATOR (AMM 12-51-11/301)
