RECOMMENDED CABLE MATERIAL (3/32 DIAMETER):
(1)
 CARBON STEEL, TYPE I, COMPOSITION, TIN OVER ZINC COATING PER BMS 7-265 OR MIL-W-83420, 7X19 CONSTRUCTION.

(2)
 CORROSION RESISTANT STEEL PER MIL-W-83420 TYPE 1B, 7X7 CONSTRUCTION.

 (1)  Rigging Pins - MS20392, 0.311 + 0.000/-0.002 inch diameter x 6.0 inches long (2 required)
 NOTE: Rigging pins are part of F70207-69 or F70207-78.

Prepare to Remove the Steering System Cables (NWSA and NWSB)

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THE GROUND LOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING
_______ GEAR. WITHOUT THE GROUND LOCK PINS, THE LANDING COULD RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  
If the groundlock pins are not installed on all the landing gear, do this task: Install the ground lock assemblies (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Make sure that the clearance between the cable guard and the steering collar pulley is between 0.015 and 0.045 inch.

 (a)  
If it is necessary, add BACW10P635 washers (2 maximum).

 (3)  
Install the rigging pins in the quadrant (27) and in the steering wheel.

 (4)  
Remove the aft access panel from the left bulkhead of the nose wheel well.


 NOTE: The removal of the aft access panel will access you to the
____ turnbuckles (40 and 43) of the cables NWSA and NWSB.

Loosen the turnbuckles (40 and 43).

Procedure to Remove the Steering System Cables (NWSA and NWSB)

 (1)  
Disconnect the steering cables of the nose wheel.
