WARNING:_______ BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY YOU MUST DEFLATE
THE TIRE OR DO AN EXAMINATION OF THE WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY TO
MAKE SURE IT IS SAFE TO REMOVE WITHOUT DEFLATION. DO THE
EXAMINATION OF THE WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY OR DEFLATE THE TIRE
AS GIVEN IN THE PROCEDURE THAT FOLLOWS. A DEFECTIVE WHEEL AND
TIRE ASSEMBLY CAN EXPLODE DURING OR AFTER REMOVAL IF YOU DO NOT
DEFLATE THE TIRE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE
TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Do step (a) to examine the tire and wheel assembly to see if it is safe to remove without tire deflation, or do step (b) to deflate the tire:
NOTE: If you will not install the same wheel and tire assembly,
____ deflate the tire to prevent transporting and inflate tire.
(a) Examine the wheel and tire assembly to see if it has the conditions that follow: 1) The tires are not worn too much (AMM 32-45-00/601,
Inspection Check). 2) The tire does not have damage. 3) The tires are cool enough to be comfortably touched with
the bare hand. 4) There is no evidence of wheel damage, including cracked or missing tie bolts or tie nuts, or cracks in the wheel. 5) If the wheel and tire assembly does not have the conditions in the above steps, you must deflate the tires.
(b) Deflate the tire with the tire deflation tool.

WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONS ARE CLEAR OF THE VALVE PATH. IF THE VALVE BLOWS OFF WHILE YOU REMOVE IT, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCURE.
WARNING:_______DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE ON THE VALVE CORE. THE CORE PARTS CAN MOVE APART AND LET THE SLEEVE AND THE LOWER END OF POPPET STAY IN THE VALVE STEM.

If you cannot deflate the tire, slowly loosen the valve stem while you apply a slight pressure on the valve stem.

Turn the eight Cam-Loc fasteners and remove the hubcap fairing (outboard wheels only).

Remove the lockwire, bolts and washers, and remove the hubcap.

Remove the retainer ring of the axle nut.
NOTE:____Some wheels have grease seals for the outer bearing. It is recommended that you keep the grease seal and the outer bearing in the wheel during wheel removal.

Remove the washer and the outer wheel bearing.

Install the thread protector on the axle threads.

Put the wheel change dolly in position, lift the wheel and remove it.

Install the axle protector on the axle.
