NOSE LANDING GEAR WHEEL SNUBBER - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General (Fig. 201)

A. This procedure tells you how to remove, install, and inspect the snubber blocks for the nose landing gear tires (referred to in this procedure as "tires").
B. There is a snubber for each tire. The two snubbers are installed at the top panel assembly of the forward nose wheel well.

WARNING:_______WEAR A PROTECTIVE TYPE RESPIRATOR WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ú SNUBBER BLOCKS FOR THE NOSE GEAR. THE SNUBBER BLOCKS CAN ú CONTAIN ASBESTOS FIBERS OR DUST. INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR ú IF YOU BREATHE ASBESTOS FIBERS OR DUST. ú ú (1) You must wear a protective type respirator when you do work on the ú snubber blocks.

Make sure the ground locks are installed in all landing gear (AMM 32-00-01).

Set the parking brake.

Remove the bolts and nuts that attach the snubber block to the snubber spring (6 locations).

(2) Replace the snubber block if it is worn to less than 1/16 inch from the bolt that attaches the snubber block.
