(a)
Apply and release the brakes fully at least five times.
(b)
Make sure that the brake operates properly.
(c)
Make sure the brake pressure plate moves freely while the brake operates.
(d)
Make sure that the pressure plate goes back to the initial postion each time that you release the brake.
(e)
Do this additional check to make sure that the pressure plate will operate properly: 1) Make sure that the brake pedals are released and pressure
is released from the brake.
2) Manually move the pressure plate in the direction of the pistons. Hold the wear pins and push or pull on them to move the wear plate.
3) Move the pressure plate back in contact with the adjacent rotor disc.
NOTE: Do not use a tool to apply force to the pressure
____ plate to make it move.
4) Look at the piston side of the plate and make sure that the pressure plate drive lugs are in their correct position.
S 226-023
(3)
Do a check for correct brake operation and a minimum run clearance.
(a)
Apply the brakes and make sure the brake stacks compress fully.
(b)
Release the brake and do a check on the run clearance.
1) Measure the clearance between the linings on the pressure plate and the No. 1 rotor assembly.
NOTE: Make the measurements at four equally spaced
____ distances around the brake perimeter.

(c) 2) Make sure the minimum brake run clearance is 0.080 inch at all the measurement locations.Do a check for correct brake operation and a minimum run clearance four more times.
NOTE:____ If the brake rotors are not aligned when the brake pressure is off, you need to align the rotors before you install the wheel.
