 AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM - TROUBLE SHOOTING

 1.  General
_______
 A.  In trouble shooting the automatic braking system, trouble symptoms are best identified by performing an operation test of the system (Ref Automatic Braking System - A/T). Conditions required for system operation are:
 (1)  
Autobrake electrical power is available.

 (2)  
Antiskid system is operable with no faults.

 (3)  
Hydraulic system B is pressurized (AMM 29-15-00, MP).

 (4)  
Both engine throttles are retarded.

 (5)  
Left and right brake pedal pressure is less than 750 psi (feet off the brakes).

 B.  
If any one of the above conditions is not met, the system will disarm. A malfunction of the system is indicated by the illumination of the AUTO BRAKE DISARM light in longer than 1.5 seconds. Isolation of the malfunction can be accomplished by using the system self-test features and the TEST switch on the front face of the antiskid module. System fault can be isolated to a specific component by proper interpretation of light behavior as described in chart.
