 E. Adjust the Brake Metering Valves (Fig. 502)
 S 845-012
 (1)  Manually extend the metering valve plungers to the fully extended position.
 NOTE: The plungers must be in the fully extended position when you
____
 check the clearance.

 You can do the adjustment with the A and B hydraulic systems on or off.
 S 225-095
 (2)  
Do a check for the correct location of the brake metering valve foil markers.

 (a)  
P/N BAC27DCT0494 foil marker should be found on the outboard position adjacent to the alternate brake metering valve. The foil marker reads "ALTERNATE BRAKE METERING VALVE".

 (b)  
P/N BAC27DCT0493 foil marker should be found on the inboard position adjacent to the normal brake metering valve. This foil marker reads "NORMAL BRAKE METERING VALVE".

 (c)  
If the foil markers are found in the incorrect locations, replace them in the correct locations.


 S 225-083
 (3)  Make sure that the plunger extension is 0.265 to 0.285 inches (View A, Fig. 502).
 NOTE: Use a block gage to do a check of the plunger extension.

 (4)  
With the quadrant against the stop, measure the gap between the roller and the plunger:

 (a)  
For the normal system, make sure the clearance between the roller and the plunger is 0.002 to 0.023 inch.

 (b)  
For the alternate system, make sure that the initial adjustment of the clearance between the roller and the plunger is 0.027 to


 0.048 inch.
 NOTE: The final adjustment for the alternate system gap is
____ done when you do a test for the A system for the main gear brakes.

 (5)  
Adjust the gap between the roller and the plunger, if it is
 necessary, as follows:


 (a)  
Loosen the jamnut and adjust the roller assembly to get the correct clearance if it is necessary.

Remove the locking clips and lockwire from the turnbuckles (View B, Fig. 503).

Adjust the tension of the cables of the left wing cable loop (LGBA1, LGBA2, LGBB1, and LGBB2) and the right wing cable loop (LGBA1, LGBA2, LGBB1, and LGBB2) as shown on Table 1 of Fig. 503.

Make sure that you put the quadrant in the brake off position against the stop (Fig. 502).

Install the turnbuckle locking clips.

Use lockwire to tie the cables together at the turnbuckles (View B, Fig. 503).
