If air/ground signals switch to the air mode without the throttle levers being retarded, RTO logic will continue to track throttle position until wheel speed drops below 55 knots.

If the AUTO BRAKE selector switch is left in the RTO position for landing, automatic braking will not occur and, the AUTO BRAKE DISARM light will illuminate two minutes after touchdown. The AUTO BRAKE DISARM light will extinguish when the selector switch is moved to the OFF position. To resume normal operation, the selector switch must be moved to the OFF position before making another selection.

Brake application
(a)
The autobrake pressure proportional to the deceleration selected passes from the servo valve to the autobrake shuttle valves. The two shuttle valves connected to both metered pressure and autobrake pressure lines will pass the hydraulic pressure of the line with the higher pressure and block the other input. This pressure is applied through the four corresponding antiskid valves thus applying the brakes.

During manual braking, the autobrake shuttle valves will slide to port pilots' metered pressure to the brakes. When autobrake pressure is applied, the valve will be forced to slide blocking metered pressure and pass the autobrake pressure to apply brakes. When brakes are manually applied during autobraking, the shuttle moves to block autobrake after the autobrake pressure is exceeded by the metered pressure. When the metered pressure exceeds 750 psi, the pressure switch actuates causing the autobrake system to disarm, and the solenoid shutoff valve and pressure control servo valve are vented to return.

Autobrake disarm
(a)
Disarming can be either pilot or failure initiated. Disarming causes the disarm relay R290 to set to disarm mode and remove 28-volts dc power from the solenoid valve of the autobrake pressure control module.
Various causes for autobrake disarming during landing or RTO, and the illumination of the AUTO BRAKE DISARM light are described in Fig. 4.
