Measure the Main Gear Uplock Sensor Clearance (Fig. 501)

(1)
Prepare to retract the main landing gear.
(a)
Remove the ground lock(s) from the main gear
(AMM 32-00-01/201).
(b)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(c)
Move the FLT CONTROL and SPOILER switches to OFF if you use the airplane's hydraulic system for hydraulic power.
NOTE: The FLT CONTROL and SPOILER switches are on the P5
____
overhead panel.
CAUTION: DO NOT TURN THE STEERING TILLER WHEN THE SHOCK STRUT OF
_______ THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IS FULLY EXTENDED. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CENTERING CAMS IN THE SHOCK STRUT IF YOU DO THIS.
(d)
Make sure the landing gear is fully extended and locked with the control lever in the DN position.

Retract the main landing gear:

(a)
Pressurize hydraulic system A and B (AMM 29-15-00/201).
(b)
Fully retract the flaps to prevent the operation of the PTU.
(c)
Move the two throttles to a position of 17 degrees or more.
WARNING: MAKE SURE ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE MAIN
_______ LANDING GEAR. FAST MOVEMENT OF THE MAIN LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(d)
Move the landing gear selector lever to the UP position.
(e)
Turn off hydraulic power pumps A and B.
(f)
Attach a DO NOT MOVE tag to the landing gear selector lever.

Remove the pivot bolt to permit the inner shock strut door to move to the open position.

Measure the clearance between the sensor and the target.
NOTE: This can help you find the thickness of the spacer that is
____ necessary for the correct clearance (Fig. 501). If the sensor gap is not correct, then you will need to adjust the main gear uplock sensor.
