(5) Remove the outer body of the brake disconnect valve. Leave the inner part of the disconnect valve in the brake pressure port.
NOTE: The part of the brake disconnect that is attached to the
____ brake hose seals the hydraulic lines to prevent fluid loss and keep contamination out of the brake hydraulic system. The part of the brake disconnect that is installed in the brake seals the brake housing and allows fill and bleed procedures to be done on the brake assembly away from the airplane.

Lift the wheel and tire assembly with jacks until it is clear of the ground (AMM 07-11-11/201).
