TASK 32-51-00-705-061
4. Nose Wheel Steering System Test
________________________________
A. General
(1)
You do a test on the steering system of the nose wheel to find if the steering rate, the steering wheel centering, and the angle of travel are in the necessary limits and the system is free of malfunctions and leaks. You must adjust the steering systems of the nose wheel and the rudder control system before you do the tests.
(2)
Service the hydraulic system before you do the test
(AMM 12-12-00/301).
NOTE: If it is necessary to adjust or replace the proximity sensor
____ of the nose wheel or the target refer to AMM 32-09-02.
(3)
You must adjust the steering system of the nose wheel well correctly before you do the test.
(4)
It is important that you bleed the hydraulic system of the nose gear steering completely everytime you open it for servicing. You do this task is to make sure of an effective shimmy damping. To bleed the system you must pressurize the hydraulic system A (AMM 29-15-00/201) and try the steering system through at least 15 complete cycles from full left to full right without the torsion link apex pin.
