NOSE GEAR DOWN SENSOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. These tasks remove and install the nose gear down sensor.
B. The sensor is found on the bracket above the left trunnion pin for the shock strut.

Remove the Down Sensor (Fig. 401)

Open these circuit breakers on the P6 panel and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
AURAL WARNING
(b)
GEAR SWITCH & ANTISKID TEST
(c)
LIGHTS
S 494-002

Make sure the ground locks for the landing gear are installed (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Do these steps to disconnect the sensor wires:
(a)
Open the access door for the electronic equipment center, 1201.
(b)
Go through the electronic center to the area on the aft right corner of the nose wheel well.
(c)
Find the wire splices that follow (Fig. 401):
1) FOR THE PRIMARY SENSOR; splices SP410 and SP412.

Put tags on the wires to help you connect the wires correctly during the installation.

Open the applicable splices and disconnect the wires.
