Prepare the Procedure

(1)
Install the ground locks in the nose landing gear
(AMM 32-00-01/201).
S 864-002
(2)
Remove the pressure from the hydraulic system A (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Remove the aft access panel from the leftside of the wheel well bulkhead on the nose landing gear.

Procedure to Remove the Steering Collar
S 034-004
(1)
Disconnect the steering cables.
(a)
Install the rigging pin in the cable drum on the sidewall behind the steering wheel of the flight compartment.
(b)
Get access through panel 1103 and loosen the cables NWSA and NWSB tension at the turnbuckles.
NOTE: The turnbuckles of the NWSA cable are between the
____ steering wheel and the steering quadrant of the rudder pedal. The other turnbuckle of the NWSA is on the outboard of the wheel well on the nose landing gear (which is opposite the upper part of the shock strut). The turnbuckle of the NWSB is also on the outboard of the wheel well on the nose landing gear.

(c) Disconnect the steering wheel cables of the nose landing gear from the aft side of the steering collar (20). 1) AIRPLANES WITH TWO CABLES;
Remove the lockwire (21) from the spring pins (22) at the
terminal ends of the NWSA and NWSB cables.
a) Remove the spring pins (22).
2) AIRPLANES WITH SINGLE CABLE; Remove the cotter pins (21) from the steering collar (20).

Remove the retaining pin (18) from the upper torsion link (AMM 32-21-31/401).
S 844-006
(3)
Turn the collar (20) to approximately 50 degrees to the leftside.
S 034-007
(4)
Remove the right attach bolt (12) of the steering cylinder.
(a)
Remove the bolt bushings (8 and 11) of the steering collar.
