(1) Set the parking brake and do a check for a worn brake unit.
NOTE: Each brake has two brake wear indicator pins.

(a)
If the two wear indicator pins are missing, you must replace the brake prior to the next flight.
(b)
If one wear indicator pin is missing, the brake can stay in service if the remaining wear pin operation is satisfactory.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE BRAKE UNIT TO WEAR UNTIL THE RELINE
_______ INDICATOR PIN IS BELOW THE SURFACE. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(c) If an indicator pin makes is flush with or below the surface of the bushing (as shown in Fig. 601), you must replace the brake.

Examine the brake assembly for these types of damage:
(a)
Cracks that you can see.
(b)
Broken parts.
(c)
Parts that show a large amount of wear.
(d)
A large amount of corrosion on components of the brake assembly.
(e)
Parts that are loose.
(f)
Other damage that can cause malfunction, wear or leaks of hydraulic fluid.
