 (5)  S 845-069Push the brake pedals slowly and fully six times to bleed the brakes.
 (6)  S 845-070Monitor the friction pin movement when the brake pedals are pushed to make sure that the brakes operate.
 (7)  S 845-071Remove the system A and B hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).
 (8)  S 845-072Remove the external power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 BRAKE METERING VALVE CONTROL QUADRANT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks. The first task removes the control quadrant for the brake metering valve. The second task installs the control quadrant.
 B.  There are two control quadrant installations. One installation is for the captain's brake system. The other installation is for the first officer's brake system. This procedure is applicable to the two installations.

 2.  Remove the Control Quadrant for the Brake Metering Valve (Fig. 401)________________________________________________________

 (1)  
Make sure that the ground lock assemblies are installed in the nose and main landing gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

 (2)  
Remove the passenger seats from station 664 through station 727 (AMM 25-22-00/201).

 (3)
Remove the carpet that is below the seats that you removed.

 (a)  
Pull the carpet up to remove it from the double-backed tape.


 S 014-005
 (4)  
Remove the center floor panel from station 664 thru station 727 to get access to the control quadrant assembly.

Procedure to Remove the Control Quadrant Assembly


 S 034-007
 (1)  
Loosen the turnbuckles on cables LGBA1, LGBA2, LGBB1, and LGBB2 to release the tension in the cables .

Disconnect the cables LGBA1, LGBA2, LGBB1, and LGBB2 from the control quadrant assembly.

 (3)
Disconnect the return spring from the control quadrant assembly.

 (4)  
Go to the wheel well and remove components from the quadrant shaft as follows:

 (a)  
Disconnect the return spring from the feel augmentor lever.

 (b)  
Loosen the clamp screw and remove the lever assembly for the brake feel augmentor from the quadrant shaft.

 (c)  
Remove the nut, the washers, and the lower spacer from the quadrant shaft.

 (d)  
Remove the lever assembly for the brake metering valves from the quadrant shaft.

 (e)  
Remove the subsequent spacer from the quadrant shaft.

 (5)  
Go to the access opening in the passenger floor and remove the quadrant assembly as follows:

 (a)  
Disconnect the spring from the quadrant assembly and try to manually lift the assembly of the control quadrant and the quadrant shaft from the support assembly. If you can do this, make sure you check the outside diameter of the shaft assembly and the inside diameter of the bearings with the wear limits (CMM 32-41-20).

 (b)  
To remove the plate and housing assembly that holds the quadrant and the quadrant shaft in position on the wheel well ceiling, do the steps that follow: 1) Get another person to stand in the wheel well and hold the
