 E. Test Procedure
 S 975-037-001
 (1)  Measure the connector pin resistances.
 (a)  
Connect the resistance probes to the EXT RES receptacles on the system test unit.

 (b)  
Set the DISPLAY SELECT switch to RES.

 (c)  
Set the RESISTANCE FUNCTION switch to EXT RES.

 (d)  
Set the power switch to ON.

 (e)  
Touch the probes to each of these locations and make sure the resistance is more than the applicable minimum value:


 NOTE: Change the position of the probes if the resistance
____ value is less than the minimum value. If you cannot get a resistance that is more than the minimum value, the circuit is bad.

Set the power switch to OFF.

 (g)  
Disconnect the leads from the system test unit.

 (2)  Connect the test equipment (Fig. 504).
 (a)  
Connect the test harness to the airplane wire bundle.

 (b)  
Connect the test harness to the system test unit.

 (3)  Measure the empty tank resistances.
 (a) Set the power switch on the system test unit to ON.

Set the RESISTANCE FUNCTION switch to each of these positions:

Set the CAPACITANCE FUNCTION switch to A/C TEST - UNSH.

Do this task: Fuel Summation Unit Installation (AMM 28-41-81/401).

 (5)  
Set the capacitance trimmer.


 NOTE: This step sets the airplane wiring to a standard
____ capacitance value of 16 pf. This will make it easier to find problems with the capacitances of the equipment in the fuel tank.
 (a)  
Get access to the bussing plug installed on the spar for the applicable tank (Fig. 501).

 (b)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the bussing plug.
