 FUEL QUANTITY INDICATING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has these tasks:
 (1)  
A test for the correct operation of the fuel quantity indicating system

 (2)  
A system trim

 (3)  
A system test


 B.  To do the test for the correct operation, you push the test switch in the control cabin and make sure the indicators operate. You do this procedure again at the P15 refuel panel on the wing.
 C.  After you replace one of these components, you must do a check of the value on the applicable fuel quantity indicator:
 (1)  
The fuel quantity indicator

 (2)  
The tank unit

 (3)  
The compensator

 (4)  
The wire bundle

 (5)  
The capacitance trimmer.


 D.  With an empty fuel tank, compare the value on the applicable indicator to this table to see if you must do the trim procedure or the full system test of the fuel quantity indicating system.

 E.  If you replace the fuel summation unit, no adjustment of the unit is necessary.
 F.  If the value on a fuel quantity indicator changes suddenly, do a check for water in the applicable fuel tank (AMM 12-11-00/301).
 G.  An indicator in the control cabin is referred to as a fuel quantity
____ indicator. An indicator in the refuel control panel (P15) on the wing is referred to as a refuel quantity indicator.

 2.  Operational Test - Fuel Quantity Indicating System

 B.  Procedure
 S 865-002-002
 (1)  Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) EP GND FUELING
 2) QTY

 S 975-003-002
 (2)  
Write the values shown on the fuel quantity indicators.

 S 715-004-002

 (3)  
Push and hold the QTY TEST switch adjacent to the fuel quantity indicators.

 (4)
Make sure the fuel quantity indicators go to a value of zero.

 (5)  
Release the test switch.

 (6)  
Make sure the fuel quantity indicators show the same value you wrote before this step with a tolerance of 50 pounds (25 kgs).
