(6) S 862-113Open the shutoff handle on the hose nozzle.
(7) S 012-048Open the access door, 6535, for the defueling valve (Fig. 202).
(8) S 862-114Set the defueling valve to the OPEN position.
(9) S 862-115Make sure the crossfeed valve is closed.

If you are scheduled to defuel the center tank, do these steps:
(a)
Close the removal valves for the forward boost pump and the aft boost pump in the No. 2 tank.
(b)
Start the defueling pump on the fuel truck.
(c)
Defuel until the fuel truck flowmeter shows no fuel flow.
(d)
Stop the defueling pump on the fuel truck.

(16) If you are scheduled to defuel the No. 1 tank, do these steps:
(a)
Open the crossfeed valve with your hand.
(b)
Get access to the boost pumps for the center tank and close the two removal valves for the boost pumps.
(c)
Start the defueling pump on the fuel truck.
(d)
Defuel until the fuel measuring sticks show the correct quantity of fuel remaining in the tank.
(e)
You can also defuel until the flowmeter on the fuel truck shows no fuel flow.
(f)
Stop the defueling pump on the fuel truck.
