Prepare for the System Test

 (1)  Connect the external electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAPS. THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  Extend the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO
_______ INSTALL THE LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (3)  
Install the locks on the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Remove all the fuel from the fuel tank, and the fuel in the sumps (AMM 28-23-00/201).
 NOTE: If you do the trim for only one tank system, you can move

 the fuel into the other tanks.

 (5)  Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) QTY
 2) EP GND FUELING

Remove the fuel quantity indicator from the pilots' panel.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the fuel quantity indicator.

Connect the test equipment (Fig. 504).
 (a)  
Connect the test harness to the airplane wire bundle.
 (b)  
Connect the test harness to the system test unit.

 (9)  Do this procedure: "Fuel Summation Unit Removal"
 (AMM 28-41-81/401).
 E. System Test Procedure

 (1)  Measure the empty tank resistances.
 (a)  
Set the TEST FUNCTION switch on the test unit to INSULATION.
 (b)  
Set the battery switch to ON.
 (c)  
Turn the METER ADJUST knob until the meter is at its maximum value.
 (d)  
Set the INS TEST POINTS switch to LO-Z/HI-Z.
 (e)  
Read the total resistance for the tank units.
 (f)  
Make sure the resistance shown on the test unit is more than 250 megohms.
 (g)  
Set the INS TEST POINTS switch to each of the SHLD or GND positions. 1) Make sure each resistance shown on the test unit is more
 than the applicable minimum resistance:
 SWITCH SETTING  MINIMUM RESISTANCE SH/HI-Z 1 Megohm SH/LO-Z 1 Megohm GND/HI-Z 10 Megohm GND/LO-Z 10 Megohms GND/SH 10 Megohms
