 FUEL QUANTITY INDICATING SYSTEM TOTAL RESISTANCE - INSPECTION/CHECK
___________________________________________________________________
 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has one task, a resistance check of the fuel quantity indicating system (FQIS).
 B.  A resistance check of the all the fuel quantity indicating system is a good, quick procedure to do a check of the system. It is also a good procedure to prepare for the trouble-shooting. A low resistance is an indication of a short circuit in the subsystem, wire bundles, tank unit or compensator unit. A high resistance is an indication of an open circuit (broken wire or bad terminal contacts).
 C.  The resistance check in this procedure does not replace the FQIS adjustment/test. If you think the indicator precision is bad, refer to the applicable FQIS adjustment/test.

 (2)  Extend the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO
_______ INSTALL THE LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (3)  
Install the flap locks on the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Defuel the applicable tank or tanks and drain the sump fuel
 (AMM 28-23-00/201).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
