Disconnect the bonding jumper for the nozzle from the ground jack on the airplane.

Put the cap on the fueling receptacle.

Close the access door, 6540, for the refuel station (P15 panel).

If you opened the fuel crossfeed valve, move the manual override lever to the CLOSE position to close the fuel crossfeed valve on the right wing rear spar.

3. Fuel Transfer from One Tank to a Different Tank
_______________________________________________
A. General
(1)
If it is necessary to defuel only one of the tanks, you can move the fuel from that tank to a different tank. For example, you can use this procedure when you must repair a fuel leak. The procedure is almost the same as the procedure to defuel the tank with the boost pumps.
(2)
Make sure you monitor the fuel quantity in each tank when you move the fuel from one tank to a different tank.

D. Procedure

(1) Connect the external electrical power to the airplane
(AMM 24-22-00/201).
NOTE: If you are not scheduled to defuel the No. 1 tank fully,
____ you can supply power with the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201). Do a check for minimum fuel quantities and other data before you start the APU.

Make sure all of the circuit breakers for the fuel system on the P6 panel are closed.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) ENG 1 R IGN
2) ENG 1 L IGN
3) ENG 2 R IGN
4) ENG 2 L IGN

(4) If you are scheduled to move fuel from the No. 2 tank to the No. 1 tank or the center tank, make sure the crossfeed valve switch is in the CLOSE position.
NOTE: When you move fuel from tank to tank irregular fuel

quantity is satisfactory and permitted.

If you are not scheduled to move fuel from the No. 2 tank to the No. 1 tank or the center tank, set the crossfeed valve switch to the OPEN position.

Open the access door, 6540, for the refuel station (Fig. 201).
