(2) Open the drain valves for the boost pumps.
(a) Drain the fuel from the pumps.

(3) Close the drain valves for the boost pumps.

WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU FULLY DRAINED THE SUMP FUEL WITH THE
_______ AIRPLANE IN THE CORRECT ATTITUDE BEFORE YOU GO INTO THE CENTER TANK. UNWANTED FUEL WILL COME OUT OF THE TANK WHEN YOU REMOVE THE ACCESS PANEL.
(4) If you are scheduled to go into the tank that you defueled, do this task: "Purging (Air Ventilating)" for the applicable tank (AMM 28-10-00/201).
I. Defuel through Pressure Fueling Receptacle With the Airplane Boost Pump Only

Ground the airplane and the fuel truck (AMM 20-40-11/201).

Connect the electrical power to the airplane (AMM 24-22-00/201).
NOTE: If you are not scheduled to defuel the No. 1 tank fully,
____ you can use the APU to supply electrical power. You must have a minimum quantity of fuel in the No. 1 tank to use the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201).

Make sure all circuit breakers for the fuel system on the P6 panel are closed.

Open the access door, 6540, for the refuel station (P15 panel).
(5)
Remove the cap on the fueling receptacle.

Connect the bonding cable on the defueling hose to the ground jack on the wing.

(7) Connect defueling hose nozzle to the fueling receptacle.

(8) Open the shutoff handle on the defueling hose nozzle.
NOTE:____ The defueling nozzle must have a filter screen.

Make sure the two engine shutoff valves are closed.
