 E.  If a fuel quantity indicator shows the word ERR but no error code, it is necessary to correct this condition. This condition shows that the fuel quantity indicator measures a capacitance in the tank unit less than the minimum for an empty fuel tank. With this condition, one of the tank units is loose or it is necessary to adjust the fuel quantity indicating system or to trim it.
 F.  If the value on an indicator changes suddenly, do a check for water in the applicable fuel tank (AMM 12-11-00/301).
 G.  An indicator in the control cabin is referred to as a fuel quantity

 indicator. An indicator in the refuel control panel (P15) on the wing is
 referred to as a refuel quantity indicator.

 2.  Operational Test - Fuel Quantity Indicating System__________________________________________________
 A. Access
 (1)  
Location Zones
 101 Control Cabin, Left
 402 Right Wing Outboard Leading Edge

 (2)  
Access Panels
 6540 Refuel Station Access Door

 

 B. Procedure
 S 865-002-001
 (1)  Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) QTY
 2) EP GND FUELING

 S 975-003-001
 (2)  
Write the values shown on the fuel quantity indicators.

 S 715-004-001

 (3)  
Push and hold the QTY TEST switch adjacent to the fuel quantity indicators.

 S 715-005-001

 (4)  
Make sure the fuel quantity indicators go to a value of zero and show ERR 4 on the display.

 NOTE: ERR 4 will not show on MOD 4 or subsequent indicators
____ unless you hold the QTY TEST switch for more than 30 seconds. The indicator will show ERR 2 on the display if the indicator has error code 3 in its memory.
 S 715-006-001
 (5)  Release the test switch and make sure the indicators do these steps in this sequence:
 (a)  
The indicators show all of the segments of the display for two seconds.

 (b)  
The fuel quantity indicators show no segments for two seconds.

The fuel quantity indicators show each of the error codes in the indicator memory for two seconds each.

 (d)  
The fuel quantity indicators show the tank capacity value.

 (e)  
The fuel quantity indicators show the value that you wrote before this step with a tolerance of 10 pounds (10 kilograms).

Open the access door, 6540, for the refuel control panel (P15).

 S 975-008-001

 (7)  
Write the values shown on the refuel quantity indicators.

Set and hold the test switch to TEST GAGES.

Make sure the refuel quantity indicators do these steps in this sequence:

 NOTE: The indicators will do these steps again until you
