CAUTION: ROUTE THE IFQT (SAFE-SIDE) WIRE HARNESS WITH A MINIMUM 0.5 INCH
_______ (12.7 MILLIMETERS) CLEARANCE FROM OTHER AIRPLANE WIRING IN NON-PRESSURIZED AREAS. THE ROUTING OF THE IFQT (SAFE-SIDE) WIRE HARNESS IS CRITICAL FOR CORRECT PROPER OPERATION AND INTRINSIC SAFETY OF THE FQIS.

Install the clamps and tighten to secure the harness (Fig. 401).

Install the vapor seal (Fig. 402).
(a)
Install the two halves of the vapor seal to the cable.
(b)
Install the vapor seal halves to panel with the two screws and locknuts.
(c)
Tighten the mounting screws to 25-35 inch-pounds (2.8-3.9 Newton-meters).
(d)
Seal the vapor seal with the BMS-5-95 sealant (SWPM 20-10-20).
(e)
Connect the closure panel to opening in vapor seal and seal with BMS 5-95 sealant.

Prepare faying surface of grounding tab on grounding bracket for an electrical bond (SWPM 20-20-00).

Install ground strap from backshell of new harness to existing bracket near tank wall bussing plug (Fig. 401).

(8) Tighten the ground tab mounting bolts to 25-35 inch-pounds (2.8-3.9 Newton-meters).
NOTE: Maximium permissible length of grounding strap from the
____ backshell to the grounding bracket is 6.0 inches (152 millimeters).

(9) Perform a bonding test from the newly installed safe-side harness as follows:
(a) Connect one lead of the bonding test meter to the outer lightning braid near the safe-side harness connector plug.
NOTE: This will require sliding the probe under the
____ protective expando sleeving to get access to the metallic braid.
(b)
Connect the other end of the bonding meter to the grounding bracket.
(c)
Make sure the measured resistance is less than 0.001 ohms.

I. Center Tank to External Pressure Hull IFQT (Safe-Side) Harness Installation

CAUTION: THE ROUTING OF THE MULTI-CONDUCTOR SAFE-SIDE WIRE HARNESS IS
_______ CRITICAL FOR PROPER OPERATION AND INTRINSIC SAFETY OF THE FQIS. THE SAFE-SIDE HARNESSES ARE TO BE ROUTED WITH A MINIMUM 0.5 INCH (12.7 MILLIMETERS) CLEARANCE FROM OTHER AIRPLANE WIRING IN NON-PRESSURIZED AREAS. A MINIMUM OF A 0.25 INCH (6.35 MILLIMETERS) MUST BE MAINTAINED FROM OTHER AIRPLANE WIRING IN PRESSURIZED AREAS.
WIRE BUNDLE ROUTING AND INSTALLATION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH BSWPM 20-10-11 AND 20-10-12.
ALL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SAFETY PRACTICES DESCRIBED IN BSWPM 20-00-10.
(1) Connect new harness connector plug to center tank connector.
NOTE: Installation of any new safe-side harness must follow the
____ routing of the old harness that was removed.
