APU FUEL FEED LINE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. The APU fuel feed line (referred to as the APU fuel line) supplies fuel to the APU from the engine fuel line. If the engine does not operate, the APU fuel line supplies fuel to the APU from the bypass for the APU fuel line.
B. To make the removal and the installation easier, the APU fuel line is divided into four parts.
(1)
The part that goes from the engine fuel line (and the bypass) to the
70.85 rib web is in the No. 1 tank.
(2)
The part that goes from the 70.85 rib web to the top skin of the wing center section is in the wing center section.
(3)
The part that goes from the top skin of the wing center section to the APU compartment has a shroud. This part of the APU fuel line is flexible. It is referred to as the flexible line.
(4)
The part that connects the flexible line to the APU fuel filter is in the APU compartment. This part of the APU fuel line has a shroud. This part is also flexible.

Set the crossfeed valve switch on the P5 panel in the CLOSED position.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) IGNITION ENGINE 1 RIGHT
2) IGNITION ENGINE 1 LEFT
3) IGNITION ENGINE 2 RIGHT
4) IGNITION ENGINE 2 LEFT

Make sure the start lever for the No. 1 engine is in the IDLE position.

Make sure the fuel shutoff valve for the No. 1 engine is open.

Make sure the fire switch in the P8 panel is not pulled out.

Remove the access panel, 7201, for the left boost pump for the center tank.
(a) Close the removal valve for the fuel boost pump.

Open the left cowl panel for the No. 1 engine (AMM 71-11-01/401) to get access to the fuel filter.
