Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the indicator.

Do these steps to calibrate the test equipment:

 (a)  
Set the battery switch to ON.

 (b)  
Set the TEST FUNCTION selector switch on the test set to INSULATION.

 (c)  
Set the INS TEST POINTS selector switch to GND/SH.

 (d)  
Adjust the METER ADJUST knob on the test set until the meter is at its maximum value (infinity).

Do this task: Fuel Summation Unit Removal (AMM 28-41-81/401).

 Connect the test equipment (Fig. 504).

 (a)  
Connect the ground lead from the GND receptacle of the test set to a good airframe ground.

 (b)  
Connect the test harness to the airplane wire bundle.

 (c)  
Connect the test harness to the system test unit.

 


 E.  Test Procedure

 (1)  Measure the empty tank resistances.
 (a)  
Read the total resistance for the tank units.

 1)  Make sure the resistance shown on the test unit is more than 250 megohms.

 (b)  
Set the INS TEST POINTS switch to each of the to each of the SHLD or GND positions shown below.

 (c)
