(1) Measure the connector pin resistances.
(a)
Connect the resistance probes to the EXT RES receptacles on the system test unit.
(b)
Set the DISPLAY SELECT switch to RES.
(c)
Set the RESISTANCE FUNCTION switch to EXT RES.
(d)
Set the power switch to ON.
(e)

Set the power switch to OFF.
(g)
Disconnect the probes from the system test unit.

Connect the test harness to the airplane wire bundle.
(b)
Connect the test harness to the system test unit.

(b) Set the RESISTANCE FUNCTION switch to each of these positions.
1) Make sure that each resistance shown on the test unit is more than the applicable resistance: SWITCH SETTING MINIMUM RESISTANCE

Set the DISPLAY SELECT switch to CAP.

Set the capacitance trimmer.
NOTE: This step sets the airplane wiring to a standard
____ capacitance value of 16 pf. This will make it easier to find problems with the capacitances of the equipment in the fuel tank.

Get access to the bussing plug on the spar for the applicable tank (Fig. 501).
