 (2)  Connect harness connector plug to mating pressure seal assembly connector on external pressure hull (Figure 401).

 CAUTION: ROUTE THE IFQT (SAFE-SIDE) WIRE HARNESS WITH A MINIMUM 0.5 INCH
_______ (12.7 MILLIMETERS) CLEARANCE FROM OTHER AIRPLANE WIRING IN NON-PRESSURIZED AREAS. THE ROUTING OF THE SAFE-SIDE WIRE HARNESS IS CRITICAL FOR CORRECT OPERATION AND INTRINSIC SAFETY OF THE FQIS.
 (3)  
Install the clamps and tighten to secure the harness (Fig. 401).

Prepare faying surface of grounding tab on grounding bracket for an electrical bond (SWPM 20-20-00).

Install the ground strap from the backshell of new harness to existing bracket near the tank wall bussing plug (Fig. 401).

Tighten the ground tab mounting bolts to 25-35 inch-pounds (2.8-3.9 Newton-meters).

 NOTE: Maximium permissible length of the grounding strap from the
____ backshell to the grounding bracket is 6.0 inches (152 millimeters).

 (7)  Perform a bonding test from the newly installed safe-side harness as follows:
 (a)  Connect one lead of the bonding test meter to the outer lightning braid near the safe-side harness connector plug.
 NOTE: This will require sliding the probe under the
____ protective expando sleeving to get access to the metallic braid.

Connect the other end of the bonding meter to the grounding bracket.

 (c)  
Make sure the measured resistance is less than 0.001 ohms.

 (8)  Apply BMS 5-95 sealant on all grounding bracket surfaces
 (BSWPM 20-10-20).

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO REMOVE THE
_______ LEADING EDGE FLAPS SAFETY LOCKS. THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (3)  For tank 1 or 2, remove the flap safety locks on the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LEADING
_______ EDGE AND TRAILING EDGE FLAP AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAPS CONTROL LEVER. THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (4)  For tanks 1 or 2, retract the leading edge flaps if you extended them at the start of this procedure (AMM 27-81-00/201).
