FUEL FEED LOW PRESSURE SWITCH - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. The low pressure switches for the boost pumps for the No. 1 tank are on the front spar of the left wing. The switches for the left boost pump for the center tank are also on the front spar of the left wing. The switches for the boost pumps for the No. 2 tank are on the front spar of the right wing. The switches for the right boost pump for the center tank are also on the front spar of the right wing.
B. You cannot replace a low pressure switch for the No. 1 tank or the No. 2 tank with a switch for the center tank. You cannot replace a switch for the center tank with a switch for the No. 1 tank or the No. 2 tank. The electrical connectors on these switches are different. If it is necessary, you can replace a switch for the No. 1 tank with a switch for the No. 2 tank.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAPS. THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Extend the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO
_______ INSTALL THE LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Install the flap locks in the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) TANK 1 BOOST PUMP FORWARD
2) TANK 1 BOOST PUMP AFT
3) TANK 2 BOOST PUMP FORWARD
4) TANK 2 BOOST PUMP AFT
5) CENTER TANK BOOST PUMP LEFT
6) CENTER TANK BOOST PUMP RIGHT
7) FUEL CONT NO. 1 AFT NO. 2 FWD CTR L
8) FUEL CONT NO. 1 FWD NO. 2 AFT CTR R

Make sure the crossfeed valve switch, on the forward overhead panel, is in the CLOSED position.

Do a check of the quantity of fuel in the applicable tank.
(a) If the quantity of fuel in the applicable tank is less than the quantity shown in Table I, it is not necessary to do the procedure: "Close the Removal Valve for the Applicable Boost Pump".
