(6) AIRPLANES WITH THE CIRCULAR BUSSING PLUG ON THE NO. 1 AND NO. 2
TANK;
Do these steps:
(a) To replace the wire harness in the No. 1 or No. 2 tank, remove
the bussing plug for that tank (AMM 28-41-41/401).
(b) To replace the wire harness in the center tank, disconnect the
electrical connector for the center tank (Fig. 401).

(7) Go into the applicable fuel tank with the replacement wire harness
(AMM 28-41-21/401, Fig. 401 and AMM 28-11-11/401).

(8) Remove the sealant around the edge of the wire bundle connection
with the receptacle on the spar if there is some sealant.

(9) Remove the receptacle.
NOTE: Two persons are necessary to do this task.____
(a) One person must go into the tank and hold the receptacle up.
(b) A second person must get access to the receptacle from the
outer surface of the tank.
(c) AIRPLANES WITH THE RECTANGULAR BUSSING PLUG;
The person out of the tank must remove the six mounting screws
that attach the receptacle to the bulkhead.
(d) AIRPLANES WITH THE CIRCULAR BUSSING PLUG ON THE NO. 1 AND THE
NO. 2 TANK;
The person out of the tank must remove the lockwire, the nut,
and the washer that attach the receptacle to the bulkhead.
(e) The person in the tank must pull the receptacle away from the
bulkhead.

(10) Prepare to install the new receptacle.

Clean these surfaces with a clean lintfree cloth moist with the solvent: 1) The area on the bulkhead where you will install the
receptacle 2) The surface of the new receptacle that will be against the bulkhead 3) The O-ring groove on the new receptacle.
(b)
Install a new O-ring.

(11) Install the new receptacle.
(a)
Put the receptacle in its correct position in the bulkhead (spar).
