(1) Weigh the bottle.
(a) The bottle weight must be +0/-.10 pound within the total weight shown on the tag.

(2) Remove the lockwire from each bottle discharge port assembly coupling.

Support the fire extinguisher bottle in the support frame and install the mounting bolts.

Connect the discharge lines to the discharge outlet.

Tighten the retaining nut at the discharge outlet to 45-55
pound-feet.

Put the discharge squibs in the discharge outlets.
NOTE: The squib must be inspected for damage with special attention
____ given to the soft seal, opposite the electrical connector, which protects the explosive charge. If punctured or otherwise damaged, the squib must be replaced with a new part.
(a)
Tighten the squib to 90 to 100 pound-inches.
(b)
Lockwire the squib to the discharge outlet.
D. Test the bottle installation.

Visually check that the engine fire extinguishing tubing is routed correctly.

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure all four squib electrical connectors and both pressure switch connectors are disconnected.

Install protective covers on each engine squib.

(6) Close these circuit breakers:
(a) CONTROL CABIN LIGHTING INDICATOR LIGHTS MASTER DIM BUS (nine
circuit breakers) on panel P6-3

(7) Put a jumper across pins 1 and 2 of connector D586 on the left
(forward) fire extinguisher bottle pressure switch.
(a) Make sure the L BOTTLE DISCHARGED light on the P8-1 panel comes
on.

Remove the jumper from pins 1 and 2 of electrical connector D586.

Reconnect the electrical connector D586 to left (forward) fire extinguisher bottle pressure switch.

Put a jumper across pins 1 and 2 of connector D588 on the right (aft) fire extinguisher bottle pressure switch.
(a) Make sure the R BOTTLE DISCHARGED light on the P8-1 panel comes on.

Remove the jumper from pins 1 and 2 of electrical connector D588.

Reconnect the electrical connector D588 to right (aft) fire extinguisher bottle pressure switch.

Set and hold the EXT TEST switch on the P8-1 panel in position 1.
(a) Make sure all of the lights on the panel P8-1 stay off.

(14) Set and hold the EXT TEST switch on the P8-1 panel in position 2.
