 2) The alarm bell in the control cabin operates. 3) The lights in the APU fire switch come on. 4) The fire warning light in the right main wheel well
 flashes. 5) The APU warning horn in the right main wheel well makes noise.

 CAUTION: DO NOT TURN THE FIRE SWITCH WHILE IT IS IN THE OUT POSITION.
_______ THE CONTENTS OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE WILL BE LET OUT.
 (8)  Pull the APU fire switch.
 NOTE: The switch must be free to move up without the use of the

 override button.

Push in the APU fire switch to close.

 Turn the switch, for the APU loop, on the test box, back to the NORMAL position.

 (a)  Make sure these indications occur: 1) The two FIRE WARN lights on the P7 are off. 2) The lights in the APU fire switch are off. 3) The alarm bell in the control cabin makes no sound. 4) The warning horn and the fire warning light in the right
 main wheel well are off.

 (11) Move the switch, for the APU loop, on the test box to the GND FAULT position.
 (a)  Make sure that these indications occur: 1) The APU DET INOP light on the P8-1 panel comes on. 2) The MASTER CAUTION lights on the P7 panel come on.

 3) The OVHT/DET annunciator on the P7 panel comes on. 4) The APU INOP light on the M279 module at the E3-3 shelf comes on.

 (12) Move the switch, for the APU loop, on the test box, back to the NORMAL position.
 (a)  Make sure that these indications occur: 1) The APU DET INOP light on the P8-1 panel goes off. 2) The MASTER CAUTION lights on the P7 panel go off. 3) The OVHT/DET annunciator on the P7 panel goes off. 4) The APU INOP light on the M279 module goes off.

 (13) Open these circuit breakers on the P6 panel:
 (a)  
FIRE PROTECTION DETECTION, ENG NO. 1

 (b)  
FIRE PROTECTION DETECTION, ENG NO. 2

 (c)

MASTER WARNING AND CONTROL

 Disconnect the test box from the airplane.

 AIRPLANES WITH ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ON THE APU ENGINE FIRE DETECTPR ELEMENT; Connect the electrical connector D984 to the APU engine fire detector element.

 Close these circuit breakers on the P6 panel:

 (a)  
FIRE PROTECTION DETECTION, ENG NO. 1

 (b)  
FIRE PROTECTION DETECTION, ENG NO. 2

 (c)  
FIRE PROTECTION DETECTION, APU

 (d)  
MASTER WARNING AND CONTROL

 

 F.  Measure the electrical continuity from the fire detection elements to the airplane ground.

 (1)  
Connect the multimeter between the outer shell of the APU engine fire detector element and the airplane ground.

 (a)  Make sure that the resistance is less than 1 ohm.

 (2)  
Disconnect the multimeter from the airplane.

 (3)  
Connect the multimeter between the outer shell of the APU exhaust fire detector element and the airplane ground.

 (a)  Make sure that the resistance is less than 1 ohm.

Connect the multimeter between the outer shell of the APU heat shield and muffler assembly overheat detector element and the airplane ground.
