3. Install the Detector____________________
A. Equipment
(1) Bonding meter (AMM 20-22-01/601)

Sealant - Silicone, Dow Corning DC-4 (AMM 20-30-11/201)

Solvent - Cleaning, Methyl Alcohol (AMM 20-30-31/201)
(3)
Solvent - Cleaning, Acetone (AMM 20-30-31/201)
C. Procedure

(1)
Remove the caps and jamnuts from the detector end fittings.
S 434-014
(2)
Install the end fittings on the mounting bracket.
NOTE:____Hold the detector when you install the detector. Do not bend the detector.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS A MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF .12 INCH BETWEEN THE
_______ DETECTOR SENSOR AND THE SUPPORT TUBE. INCORRECT INSTALLATION WILL RESULT IN A FAILED DETECTOR.
(3) Install the detector in the clamps and attach the clamps.

FROM THE SOLVENT. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES
WHEN YOU USE THE SOLVENT. KEEP THE SOLVENT AWAY FROM SPARKS,
FLAME, OR HEAT. LET THE ENGINE COOL BEFORE USING SOLVENT. THE
SOLVENT IS POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY OR
DAMAGE.
CAUTION:_______ CLEAN THE CONNECTORS USING METHYL ALCOHOL OR ACETONE ONLY. DO
NOT USE OTHER CLEANING SOLVENTS FOR THIS PURPOSE. COMMERCIALLY
AVAILABLE CONTACT CLEANERS MAY CONTAIN CHLORIDES WHICH PROMOTE
CORROSION IN SEALED AREAS, AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(4) AIRPLANES WITH PIN-SOCKET CONNECTORS; Remove the caps from the connectors and make sure the detector and the airplane electrical connectors are clean and free of contamination.
(a)
If you find contamination, clean the connection (Standard Wiring Practices Manual 20-30-31/201).
(b)
Shake the unwanted liquid out of the connector and dry with one of the two dry compressed air or nitrogen at a pressure of 20-25 psig.
NOTE: All remaining moisture can cause a low resistance to
