Attach lockwire to the element connectors.
(1) Disconnect the connectors from the loop.
(2) S 755-003Connect the multimeter to the center of the conductor at each end of the loop. This procedure does a test of center conductor continuity. (a) Measure center conductor resistance. Ref. Fig. 501.
(3) S 865-005Connect the connectors to the sensor elements.
(4) S 875-006Tighten the jamnuts from 50 to 60 pound-inches.

(1) Examine the sensing element.
(a)
Examine the detector elements for all bends less than the minimum bend radius of 1 inch.
(b)
Examine the elements for no bends nearer than 1 inch of the clamps and flange assemblies.
(c)
Examine the detector elements for worn areas and cuts.
NOTE:____Permit lightly worn areas on the finish. Reject detectors with badly worn areas or cuts.

EXTINGUISHING - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General_______
A. Fire extinguishing consists of engine fire extinguishing, APU fire extinguishing, portable fire extinguishing, and lavatory fire extinguishing.
B. Engine Fire Extinguishing (26-21-00)
(1) Two fire extinguishing bottles distribute extinguishing agent to either engine. Both bottles are in the main wheel well.
C. APU Fire Extinguishing (26-22-00)
(1) One fire extinguishing bottle distributes extinguishing agent to the APU. The bottle is on the lower right side of the empennage section.
D. Portable Fire Extinguishing (26-23-00)
(1) Portable fire extinguishers are located throughout the flight and passenger compartment areas.
E. Lavatory Fire Extinguishing (26-24-00)
(1) The lavatory fire extinguishing system consists of a heat-activated fire extinguisher bottle in each lavatory to extinguish fires under the sink counter and in the towel chute.
